BRIEF HISTORY OF COMMANDANT DONATUS IZUKA IKEMEFUNA

Donatus Izuka Ikemefuna was born in September, 1959 to the family of Ikemefuna in Umuezeagwu Quarters of Ibusa in Oshimili Local Government Area of Delta State.

He started his Primary Education at St Stephen primary School, Ubuluku after which he progressed to St Patrick College, Asaba, and Delta State where he obtained his West Africa School Certificate in 1977.

He proceeded to the University of Benin, Edo State where he obtained his distinguishing B.Sc certificate in Sociology and M.Sc in Industrial Sociology and Labour relations in 1982 and 1990 respectively.

Career progression within the Corps

Aside his promising Volunteer career, Donatus Ikemefuna rose through the rank of Assistant Commandant (ACC) to Deputy Commandant (DCC) and now Commandant (CC).

Donatus Ikemefuna has attended various courses both within and outside the country. Among which are Capacity Building for senior personnel of NSCDC held at the Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Abuja; Roles of Private Security Guard Companies in Nation Building; Peace and Conflict Resolution: way forward held in NSCDC College of Peace and Disaster, Katsina; Small Arms Trainning; Weapon Handling/Shooting; Computer operations and Data Analysis etc.

He has headed various posts within the Corps to include head, PGC department in Osun State Command; head, training department same Osun State Command; Commandant, Niger State Command; Commandant, Lagos State Command; Commandant, Bauchi State Command and at present Commandant, Ekiti State Command.

Donatus Ikemefuna possesses various forms of outstanding attributes expected of a promising Scholar. He is Knowledgeable, ethical, and assiduous. Above all, a disciplinarian for that matter.
