In a bid to make good her promise, the federal government has started training members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on the professional handling of arms so as to compliment the efforts of other security agents in the country.
However, it is in view of this development that Over 205 members of the NSCDC in Jigawa state were trained at the College of Peace and Conflict Resolution, Disaster Management Katsina.
Presenting the certificates to those who have excelled during the intensive training, the Jigawa state Commandant, Muhammad Gidado, called on the officers to compliment the gesture by utilising the skills they acquired judiciously during the training exercise and apply same while back to their respective offices.
He explained that the training, which had exposed the officers on how to handle arms, was very important for their survival as security agents. Stressing that it is just like the Police, Army or any other trained security personnel with the power to make arrest at any given time.
