The Jigawa Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday arrested nine suspected drug peddlers in Dutse, the commandant, Mr Muhammad Gidado, said.
Gidado told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Thursday that the suspects were arrested on June 5 for allegedly consuming and selling drugs.
He said the command also recovered assorted narcotic substances from the suspects.
Gidado listed the substances as 1,320mg of tramol, three milligrams of pentazocine injection, 200mg of cough syrups and one milligram of rohypnol fluritrazepam.
Gidado said that the case would be referred to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) as soon as investigations were completed.
He restated the readiness of the NSCDC command to protect lives and property in the state.
Similarly, the command recovered bundles of electrical cables from a suspected criminal hideout in Maigatari Local Government Area of the state, Gidado said.
He said that the cables were suspected to have been vandalised, adding that no arrests had been made in connection with the case.
