Katsina – The NigeriaSecurity and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday said it had arrested fivesuspected fraudsters in Charanchi Local Government area of Katsina State.
The commandant of thecorps in the state, Ibrahim Mai-Zabura, told newsmen in Katsina that the arrestfollowed intelligence report received from traders in the area.
Mai-Zabura said thesuspects had collected money from their victims under the guise of supplyinggoods to them from their companies on market days.
He said that thesuspects had allegedly collected money ranging between N100 000 and N150 000 from the victims without supplyingthe goods.
The commandant saidthat the traders reported the matter when the suspects failed to supply thegoods after three weeks.
Mai-Zabura said thatofficials of the NSCDC subsequently arrested the suspects and charged them tocourt.
He called on thepublic to be conscious of the people they transact businesses with to avoidfalling victims of fraudsters.
