Mr Shem Obafaiye, the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Oyo State, has warned vandals to desist from the act or face the law.
Obafaiye gave the warning during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan on Friday, saying the command was doing everything necessary to eradicate vandalism and disturbance of the peace.
“Hoodlums and criminals in Oyo State have been warned several times to stay away from the state if they want peace.
“They should desist from their activities and become disciplined citizens.
“It is just a matter of time before we reduce cases of vandals to the barest minimum.
“We are working with other security agencies to rid the state of vandalism and we will do our best in that direction,” Obafaiye said.
He called on the people of the state to furnish the command with useful information to help curb crime and promised that such information would be treated confidentially.
