Plateau NSCDC apprehends money counterfeiters, water pipeline vandals

The Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has yesterday paraded two persons alleged to been specialized in making counterfeit currency and one person suspected to be water pipelines vandal.

Accoding to the State Commandant of NSCDC, Vincent Bature, the two suspects were arrested with fake currency amounting to N219, 000 in Kanam LGA of the state where one of the suspect was caught selling the fake currency to people in some villages in the state and his arrest led to the arrest of his colleague.

Bature who also paraded a popular plumber in Jos, Dakurama, arrested for vandalizing water pipelines as well as diverting the water to his house for commercial purposes and starving part of Jos metropolis with scarcity of water.

He added that the illegal act of Dankurama and his cohort had punctured many pipelines that led to the con termination of water and scarcity of water to many part of Jos city.

The commandant said that the duos were arrested last February and the currency were forwarded to Central Bank for verification as the suspect release on administrative bail for the command to verify the genuineness of the currency and after the confirmation by Central Bank of Nigeria that the currency are fake they rearrested them, adding, “After investigation we will soon hand them over to the appropriate agency for proper prosecution”.
