The Minister of Interior, Honourable Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has decorated three newly appointed Deputy Commandants General (DCGs) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), with a call to rise as examples of integrity, discipline, and service to the nation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Tunji-Ojo described their promotion as a product of merit, seniority, and fairness, urging them to see the elevation not just as a personal achievement but as a higher call to serve Nigerians more selflessly.
“You are not just wearing new ranks; you are carrying new responsibilities. Lead by example, mentor the officers coming behind you, and let your decisions reflect loyalty, compassion, and courage. Our people must feel the impact of your leadership through safety, protection of lives, and defence of national assets,” the Minister charged.
He assured the officers of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to better welfare, continuous reforms, and an end to stagnation within the services, stressing that the success of the Corps translates to safer communities for Nigerians.
In his goodwill message, the Commandant General of NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, congratulated the new DCGs and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by showing renewed dedication to the Corps’ core mandate. “This elevation is not for you alone, it is for the millions of Nigerians who rely on the Corps for safety and hope,” he stated.
