CLEEN FOUNDATION PARTNERS NSCDC ON CIVIL – MILITARY RELATIONSHIP

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, says the relationship between the Military-Paramilitary and Civil Populace should be very cordial, noting that any country where there is no peace nothing works.

The NSCDC boss made this assertion when the CLEEN FOUNDATION       a Non-Governmental Organization, paid courtesy visit to the Corps National Headquarters, Abuja.

Peter Maduoma, who led the team thanked the CG for the warm reception given him and his team, pointing out that the NSCDC giant strides is highly commendable and worthy of mention anywhere.

Maduoma explained that the objective of the Civil -Military relations project is to build, support and sustain initiatives aimed at promoting positive Civil- Military relations between the Civil Populace and Military/Para-Military to  improve accountability, security and national cohesion in Nigeria.

He maintained that due to deployment of Military Personnel to different Communities in Nigeria as a result of insecurity, there is need for both the Civil Populace and the Military to come together and have a road map of co-existence to ensure cordiality between both parties.

The Director disclosed that they are on Phase II of the project where they will train NSCDC Personnel and the Police Personnel on 7 to 8 June, 2017 and in the month of July, 2017 in Borno State.

The CLEEN FOUNDATION firmly requested that they desire to work with NSCDC to attain greater heights.

Helmsman of the NSCDC praised the Corps for the good work the Organization has been doing which has earned the Agency encomium from the United Nations Organization.

Gana highlighted that the Corps being a Grassroots Security Organization works hand in hand with the Civil Populace on daily basis.

According to the Leader of the Civil Defence, said,

” The NSCDC truly commends the activity of the CLEEN FOUNDATION in promoting the Civil – Military relationship.  I request that the Foundation should visit the North East and preach to the youths, mostly orphans, to disabuse their minds from the trauma they have been through. If their state of mind is not corrected now, it will be a source of concern in the future ”.

Gana pointed out that any country where there is no peace, nothing moves forward in that nation, maintaining that, even in the house of any man if there is no peace it will make the family to be in disarray.

The NSCDC Chief Executive Officer admonished that the only way to go is Peace, Peace, Peace.
