The 2021 National Crisis Response Simulation Exercise code-named Exercise ‘’Idahun Kan-Kan’’

The Simulation Exercise was approved by the National Security Adviser to practice a Multi-Agency role response to a National Crisis using the National Crisis Management Doctrine (NCMD). The exercise was designated to assess the capacity of the Corps Crisis Management Structure to respond to complex incidents, explore MDAs Inter-agency cooperation and coordination within the framework of the National Crisis Management Doctrine to deal with threats in a built-up area as well as first responders’ capability to deal with a mass casualty incident which includes CBRNE elements.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps played six (6) roles:

1)Arms response cordon force

2)K9

3)EOD/CBRNE

4)Disaster Management

5)Medical/Paramedics Services

6)Role player Command

Department and Units of the Corps that participated fully in the exercise include:

1)The Counter-Terrorism Unit

2)The CBRNE Unit

3)The Disaster Management Unit

4)The Medical and Health Service Unit

5)The Armed Squad Unit

6)The Operations Department

7)The Special Weapon and Tactical Unit

8)The female Squad

9)The FCT Command

The exercise provided an opportunity for the corps personnel to interface with security operatives from other agencies and which will further enhance improvement in knowledge and attitude to work.
